1) Download the 2019 Sitecore Symposium mobile app
2) Pre-register for any sessions – space can be limited
a. NOTE: locations as Swan to Dolphin and vice versa can be tricky (easily 5 minutes)
Additional good ideas for teams:
1) Meet prior to Symposium to map out sessions for team members.
2) Ensure that focus of team remains on future goals
3) Divide and conquer! You can’t be everywhere so spreading your team across different sessions is very critical for the team consuming the maximum information.
Day 1: 11/5/2019
1:30pm
Reinventing a modern Intranet for a global professional services organization
Why? I run Mathematica’s Intranet on Sitecore and it is always helpful to see what others are doing to extend and improve the Intranet for employees.
2:35pm
Effective Sitecore governance, whether on-premise or in the cloud
Why? Governance is a key factor to an effective Sitecore solution. Learning what has worked for others can help guide governance decisions at your organization
3:40pm
Build JSS websites with Blazor
Why? This is purely to satisfy my inner geek. Very curious to hear from Corey on his Blazor usage within a Sitecore JSS solution.
Day 2: 11/6/2019
10:30am
New editing experience in Sitecore: What it means for developers
Why? Learn more about developing for the new Horizon editor
11:35am
10 cool things to do with Sitecore's Federated Authentication
Why? Federated Authenication is available with Sitecore and learning ideas on how to leverage in different ways sounds appealing.
Sad: Missing Joe Bissol DevOps talk – but as a friend hoping I can get the recording later
1:30pm
Netflix next with Sitecore Cortex
Why? Once again feeding my inner geek on AI driven personalization.
2:35pm
10 things you didn't know about Sitecore Forms
Despite being a 5-time MVP, I’m still in the early stages of exploring Sitecore Forms (my current solution isn’t on 9 – forgive me). This should be interest way to expand my knowledge with Sitecore Forms prior to making the move to Sitecore 9
Day 3: 11/6/2019
8:30am
The magic of winning
Yes, this is a keynote and not a decision point, but I wanted to make a point to tell all you late night folks to get your butts out of bed to hear Magic Johnson deliver what promises to be an excellent keynote. Most know him for his amazing basketball skills (Showtime) but Magic is actually well known for his business skills. Very interesting man in general. Wonder if he will touch on the failed late-night talk show he once had in the 90s. Main point: Don’t oversleep!
9:40am
Blazing fast Sitecore sites
Why? Who wants a slow performing website? No one! Let Alex Shyba guide us through his journey and quest for a top ranking lighthouse score!
10:45am
UI test automation of Sitecore sites with Selenium
Why? Mathematica has a desire to utilize Selenium for test automation. Figured this was an excellent chance to see what others are doing.
